CBD – short for Cannabidiol – is a newly legalized substance in America which has taken the country by storm. It seems as if you see it everywhere these days, and there’s good reason for that: Individuals across the country have reported a variety of positive benefits of CBD, including assisting with pain, helping improve sleep, reducing inflammation and more.
That being said, the substance is relatively new to the marketplace – as such, there’s quite a bit of confusion about what it does, its positive benefits and how long it can take to make a positive impact. This confusion is made worse because there are so many different types of CBD available, including the marketplace, including full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate.
Full spectrum CBD – including kinds like American Shaman CBD oil, has less than .3% of THC (or tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the chemical in cannabis commonly associated with intoxication). Because Full Spectrum CBD contains THC, it allows for consumers to enjoy the “entourage effects” which come with this type of CBD. At the same time, the low THC levels ensure that you will not experience and of the psychoactive effects which come when consuming marijuana.
Of course, every individual is different, and how long it takes a person to feel the beneficial effects of CBD depends on a variety of factors, including body size, method of consumption, past experience with cannabis products and metabolism. As such, it’s tough to say how long it will take for CBD to work for you, but broadly speaking, there are some guidelines.
Product Specifications and Quality
Each product is different. However, available evidence shows that full spectrum products work quicker and produce more beneficial results.
Broadly speaking, there are three types of CBD. They are:
- Full Spectrum: Full spectrum CBD contains all chemicals and compounds which were originally in the CBD when it was extracted. This includes THC, as well as other naturally occurring flavonoids and terpenes. These two chemicals, combined with the THC, produce what is known as the “entourage effect.”
- Broad Spectrum: Broad spectrum CBD is identical to full spectrum CBD, but with all THC removed.
- Isolate: This product is pure CBD and comes without flavonoids, terpenes or any other chemical, including THC.
What makes full spectrum CBD the most powerful form of CBD is the entourage effect. This is believed to occur because all naturally occurring compounds in the CBD work together to create a more pleasant experience with more positive impacts. As such, full spectrum CBD, like American Shaman, provides a more beneficial experience and can be more effective than other types of CBD products.
There are numerous ways by which you can ingest CBD, and all of these methods can take different times for an impact to be felt. American Shaman CBD consumers have said that they feel the CBD impact very quickly. This may be because it can be ingested subliminally – meaning placed underneath the tongue – thus allowing it to enter the bloodstream within minutes, if not seconds.
Roughly speaking, here’s a breakdown of the other ways in which CBD can be ingested, and how long it takes for an impact to be felt:
- Vaping or Smoking: Vaping CBD is relatively quickly, as it tends to enter the bloodstream in 30 seconds or less.
- Topicals or Balms: Rubbed onto the skin, they can take time to be effective, as the CBD will have to travel through muscle and fat before reaching your bloodsteam.
- Edibles or Pills: The slowest way of taking CBD, as the chemical will have to travel through your digestive system before reaching your bloodstream. It may take 30 minutes or longer to be effective.
When it comes to Palmetto Harmony, keep in mind that you may not be able to feel its effects immediately. However, that doesn’t mean that you should immediately increase the dosage. Remember our genera rule is that less is more. Start with the suggested dose, and stay there for at least three weeks. Every time you change the dose you are consuming, you risk making it harder to find your individual theraputic dose. It’s also important to remember that, while some people can see a positive impact almost immediately, the process can take longer for others. As such, we suggest that you make only one change to the dose you are consuming every three weeks.
It is important to work with a medical professional in order to determine how Palmetto Harmony may impact other medications which you take. If you are going to adjust any other medications, make sure you do so before starting the CBD. This ensures that there are no other variables which may impact the effectiveness of Palmetto Harmony.
Again, when it comes to CBD oils, there is no one-sized fits all. There are some adults who see a positive benefit when only consuming 1 milliliter on a daily basis; at the same time, there are children who have to take 4 milliliters a daily to receive the same positive benefit. It often takes time in order to determine your best therapeutic dosage range, so be prepared to carefully experiment in order to determine what makes the most impact for you.
Individual Unique Endocannabinoid System
CBD products work by changing the way your Endocannabinoid System works. Every person has an Endocannabinoid System – this system works by regulating the body’s uptake, or use, of the cannabinoids that your body produces. CBD and other cannabis products work by altering the body’s uptake of cannabinoids by the Endocannabinoid System. This can have an impact on a variety of sensations which you feel, including sense of calm, anxiety, and pain. The Endocannabinoid System also helps to regulate your body’s homeostasis, which impacts your temperature, organ functioning, blood level, hunger and more.
Taking CBD can impact your Endocannabinoid System. As such, it can alter your experience with all of the above sensations – and more.
Every person’s Endocannabinoid System is different, and your body will not metabolize CBD the same as anyone else. A variety of other factors can make an impact, including the environment, your mood, prior experience with cannabis, other items you have consumed, exercise level and physical fitness.
As such, the manner by which your Endocannabinoid Systems operates will have a significant impact on your experience with CBD like American Shaman. Depending on the state of your Endocannabinoid System, CBD may work quicker or slower.
